The rematch game between the University of Saskatchewan Huskies menโ€™s hockey team and the University of Regina Cougars has been postponed.

Canada West posted the announcement on their website Saturday afternoon, stating the game had been postponed after multiple positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on the Cougars menโ€™s team.

The game, which was scheduled in Regina at The Co-operators Centre will be rescheduled at a later date. In the release, Canada West stated that โ€œthe 2021-22 schedule was created with protected open weekends for instances where games may need to be rescheduled to accommodate positive cases or other issues related to the ongoing pandemic.โ€

Both teams will continue to follow Saskatchewan Health Authority COVID-19 protocols.

โ€œThe decision to postpone the game was made by the two participating schools, medical staffs, and the conference office, in order to protect the health and safety of all players and team personnel at both institutions,โ€ โ€“ Canada West statement.
