Huskies visit west coast this weekend
The Huskie men’s hockey team travels to UBC this weekend for Friday/Saturday games against the Thunderbirds. Saskatchewan is 3 and 1 in this young Canada West hockey season following a win and a loss against the Dinos in Calgary on October 7th and 8th. The Thunderbirds are tied for top spot in Canada West with Alberta. Both teams have seven points in the standings, while the Huskies have six.
Huskie coach Brandin Cote says his team will need to be very “structured” to have success in Vancouver. UBC has a highly skilled team led by former Kelowa Rocket and Seattle Thunderbird Jake Lee. The Sherwood Park born defenseman has seven points in four games this season.
In this edition of “The Coaches Show” Cote chats with HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison about the T-Birds, and last Friday’s 3-1 win over the Dinos as well as Saturday’s 5-2 defeat.
The October 14th Huskies/Thunderbirds game starts at 8pm. Puck drop for the October 15th contest in Vancouver is at 4pm. Both games can be heard on the free HuskieFAN app, and HuskieFAN.ca
