Alberta completes series sweep over Saskatchewan at Clare Drake Arena

The Alberta Golden Bears rode a big second period to a 3-0 win over the U of S Huskie men’s hockey team at Clare Drake Arena on Saturday night.
Jakin Smallwood, Justin Hall and Ryan Hughes all scored in late stages of the middle frame to lead the home side to victory. The Bears outshot the Huskies 35-27. Alberta goaltender Ethan Kruger registered the shut out.
The Huskies were without captain Connor Hobbs who was injured in the series opener on Friday night.
With the two losses in Edmonton this weekend, the Huskies fell to fifth place in the Canada West standings, two points back of UBC, with four games remaining in the regular season.
