Huskies host Canada West best

Nov 17, 2023 | 9:07 AM

The Huskie women’s hockey team hosts a UBC squad that has set the pace in the early stages of the 2023-24 Canada West women’s hockey season. The T-Birds who have won 10 of 12 games in regulation time, have the conference’s top four scorers in their line-up. The team is led by MacKenzie Kordic who has put up 21 points in 12 games.

Saskatchewan enters the November 17-18 weekend in fourth place, a point back of Alberta and Mount Royal. The Huskies, who split last weekend’s series against Calgary, have the conference’s best goaltender in Camryn Drever. The 5th-year keeper from Edmonton has a sparkling 1.25 GAA in 10 games this season.

The U of S is also looking forward to having 5th-year captain Kennedy Brown return to the line-up for at least one game of the series. Brown, who had off-season knee surgery, had 9 points in 18 games before getting hurt nearly a year ago.

The November 17th game against the Thunderbirds starts at 7:00 pm at Merlis Belsher Place. The puck drops at 5:00 pm on Saturday, the 18th. Both games can be heard on the free HuskieFAN app and HuskieFAN.ca
