Jan 12, 2024 | 9:26 AM

The Huskie women’s hockey team hopes to make a move in the Canada West standings this weekend. Saskatchewan sits in fourth place, two points back of Mount Royal going into the January 12th-13th weekend. The Huskies began the 2024 portion of their season with 3-0 and 2-1 victories over the Regina Cougars on the January 5th-6th weekend.

The Trinity Western Spartans visit Merlis Belsher Place on Friday night at 7:00pm and then face the Huskies again on Saturday night at 5:00pm. The Spartans (6-11-0-1 this season) have a number of Saskatchewan born players on their roster including Kailey Ledoux and McKenzie May of Saskatoon, Brooklyn Anderson of Shellbrook and Olivia Leier of Regina.

Huskie head coach, Steve Kook, chatted with HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison about the weekend sweep over Regina as both goaltenders Camryn Drever and Colby Wilson saw playing time and about this weekend’s series against the Spartans.
