Huskies begin regular season in Manitoba
For the second straight season, the U of S Huskie football team will open its 2024 regular season in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Bisons on Saturday, August 31st at IG Field. That will be the first of two meetings between the schools with the second game taking place on Friday, October 4th at 7:00 pm at Griffiths Stadium.
Like last season the Huskies will face their provincial rivals from Regina twice. The Rams host the Huskies on Friday, September 8th at Mosaic Stadium, with the return match-up set for Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 pm at Griffiths Stadium.
The Calgary Dinos appear on Saskatchewan’s schedule twice in 2024. The first game is the Huskie home opener on Friday, September 13 at 7:00 pm. The U of S finishes up the regular season at McMahon Stadium on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 pm.
After not playing a road game in Vancouver last season, the Huskies face the UBC Thunderbirds on Friday, September 20th at 8:00 pm, in BC in the lone meeting between the schools in 2024. The T-Birds are the defending Hardy Cup Champions after pulling out a 28-27 win over Alberta in last year’s Canada West title game. The Huskies defeated UBC 34-31 at Griffiths Stadium on September 20th of 2023.
