November 8-9 Huskie home weekend

A conference championship football game, basketball home openers and U of S men’s hockey highlight the November 8th-9th home schedule for the Huskies.

On Saturday afternoon, Canada West provincial football rivals, the Regina Rams and Saskatchewan Huskies, meet in the 87th edition of the Hardy Cup. Both teams pulled out close semi-final road victories to advance to Saturday’s conference championship. The Huskies pulled out a 38-33 win over UBC in Vancouver, while in Winnipeg, the Rams downed the 28-25.

The Saskatchewan teams split their games this season with Regina defeating Saskatchewan 33-28 on September 6th at Mosaic Stadium. The Huskies won the re-match with a 22-20 win over the Rams on October 19th at Griffiths Stadium.

The weekend starts with the Huskie women’s basketball team playing host the Manitoba Bisons. Saskatchewan will be in search of its first win after dropping a pair of games to the team is also 0 and 2 after back-to-back losses to the U of C.

The men’s hockey team puts a 7 and 3 record on the line against the Trinity Western Spartans in Friday and Saturday games at Merlis Belsher Place. Saskatchewan defeated the Manitoba Bisons in a pair of games in Winnipeg last weekend.

Friday November 8th

8:00 – Huskie men’s basketball vs. Manitoba Bisons at the PAC

7:00 – Huskie men’s hockey vs. Trinity Western at Merlis Belsher Place

Saturday November 9th

1:00 – The Hardy Cup. The Huskie football team vs. Regina Rams at Griffiths Stadium

5:00 – Huskie men’s hockey vs. Trinity Western at Merlis Belsher Place

5:00 – Huskie women’s basketball vs. Manitoba Bisons at the PAC

7:00 – Huskie men’s basketball vs. Manitoba Bisons at the PAC
