The fight for first in the east division standings
Merlis Belsher Place will be the site of November 8th and 9th games for the Huskie men’s hockey team as the Trinity Western Spartans visit the U of S campus. The Huskies enter the weekend tied with the Alberta Golden Bears with 14 points in the Canada West east division standings. The Huskies pulled out a 4-3 shoot-out win over the Manitoba Bisons last Friday, before posting a 5-0 win the night after.
Veteran forward Dawson Holt is off to an impressive start for the U of S with 13 points in 10 games. Holt and Landon Kosior each have 8 assists each this season. Goaltenders Jordan Kooy and Roddy Ross have played in 5 games each. Kooy has four wins and a 2.00 Goals Against Average, while Ross has a 2.53 GAA with three victories.
The Spartans are led by Luke Spadafora and Christian Lowe who each have nine points in eight games. Trinity Western sits with a 2 and 6 record in the west division of the Canada West standings and are coming off of a 6-2 win over the Regina Cougars from last Saturday.
