Basketball teams return to home court
An undefeated opponent rolls in to the PAC to face the Huskie women’s basketball team this weekend. The 2 and 0 Alberta Pandas visit the U of S campus for November 15th and 16th contests. After having an opening weekend bye, the U of A swept the Calgary Dinos last weekend by scores of 67-51and 53-44. The Pandas have been led by 4th-year guard, Morgan Harris, who had 12 points on opening night and 3rd-year guard, Annacy Palmer, who has been good on 5 of 8 three-point attempts this season.
Saskatchewan is 2 and 2 after back-to-back wins over the Manitoba Bisons on the November 8-9 weekend. Gage Grassick, a 4th-year guard from Prince Albert, is setting the pace for the Huskies, averaging 17 points per game. 3rd-year guard, Logan Reider has been an offensive threat as well, making good on eight 3-point attempts in three games this season.
The Huskie men’s basketball team will pursue its first win of the season against the Golden Bears at the PAC after two close losses to Manitoba last weekend. (83-79 and 70-67) Saint-Laurent, Quebec product Emmanual Bonsu is Saskatchewan’s leading scorer with a 12.6 points per game average while 2nd-year forward, Easton Thimm of Saskatoon, is next at 12.4.
The women’s games against Alberta will start at 6:00 PM on November 15th and 5:00 PM on the 16th. The men’s games will start at 8:00 PM and 7:00 PM. All games can be heard on the free HuskieFAN app.
