Veteran coach moves in to new role with football team
The Huskie football coaching staff is busy preparing for the 2025 football season. Following the May 1st Dog’s Breakfast, spring camp gets underway at Griffiths Stadium. Long time assistant coach, Cody Halseth, is talking on an elevated role as defensive coordinator as Warren Muzika has left the program.
Halseth, who has been an assistant coach with the Huskies for 14 years, is also the High-Performance Director with Football Saskatchewan. The Outlook, Saskatchewan product is looking forward to helping players such as Reece McCormick, Chaz Walker, Charlie Parks and Riece McCormick take the next step in their U SPORTS careers.
Saskatchewan battled through injuries, especially on defense, to finish with a 5 and 3 record before being beaten by the Regina Rams in the 2024 Hardy Cup at Griffiths Stadium. Halseth chatted with HuskieFAN about his new role within the coaching staff and about the upcoming season ahead.
