First place showdown under the Friday night lights
Returning members of the 2025 Regina Ram football team have fond memories of their last trip to Griffiths Stadium. The U of R pulled out a 19-14 win over the USask Huskies in the 2024 Hardy Cup. On Friday the teams meet again for their only regular season matchup of the 2025 season.
Regina upped its record to 3 and 0 with a 37-20 win over the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver on September 12th thanks in part to a 206-yard ground game. Third-year tailback, Marshall Erichsen, is averaging over 160 yards per game on the ground this season.
The 2 and 1 Huskies look to rebound following a 21-20 loss to the Manitoba Bisons on September 13th in Winnipeg. After taking a 17-0 lead, USask settled for just three second half points.
Like Regina, Saskatchewan has a potent ground game. Fifth-year running back Ryker Frank is averaging eight yards per carry and is one major away from tying the programs all-time record of 30 touchdowns.
