Huskie men’s team gets second win of the season

Nov 28, 2025 | 11:10 PM

The Saskatchewan Huskie men’s basketball squad squeaked out a 102-99 overtime victory over the Brandon Bobcats at the PAC Friday night, as a missed three point shot in the pocket corner by Sultan Haider-Bhatti at the buzzer gave Jamie Campbell and his team its second win of the year.

Campbell spoke before the game about the Huskies needing to learn from their fourth quarter woes and learn how to win the final frame. The home side spotted Brandon a 10-0 lead to begin the fourth quarter, but veteran Dylan Miller saved the Huskies on a wing three to force overtime.

Arjun Hehar had a game-high 32 points in the loss (including an efficient 7 of 8 from downtown), while the aforementioned Bhatti, who has given the Huskies fits in the past, finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Easton Thimm had another big night, scoring 25 points and chipping in 19 rebounds in the win. Thimm was one of five Huskies in double-figures for scoring, with Mohamed Mhadhi (19 points), Emmanuel Bonsu (17 points), Mohomaed Jabeteh (14 points), and Dylan MIller (11 points) were the others.

Campbell’s decision to start two rookies in Treyvon Folkes and Jabeteh, while having Bonsu come off the bench paid dividends, as both players made impacts on either end of the court.

Meanwhile, Lisa Thomaidis’ team outscored the visiting Bobcats 48-23 in the first half on route to a 33 point rout (84-51). Saskatchewan sits tied atop the Prairie division with a 9-0 record.

The Huskies had more offensive rebounds (26) than total rebounds for the visitors (25). This led to 26 second-chance points.

Piper Ingalls came off the bench to tie starter Amaya Mcleod for the team lead in scoring with 11.

On the flip side, three players scored in double figures, with Maya Flindall leading the way with a game-high 17 points. Gage Grassick had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

Anna Maelde had the games’ only double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while not missing from the field and adding a steal and 2 blocks.

Saturday’s Bobcat-Huskie women’s game starts at 5:00 PM at the PAC, while tip-off for the men’s game is at 7:00 PM
