St. Mary's pulls out OT win over USask

Huskies eliminated at University Cup.

The St. Mary’s Huskies defeated the USask Huskies 4-3 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the University Cup in Halifax on Thursday night. SMU’s Ethan Ritchie tipped in the game winning goal at 16:15 of the first overtime period. Saskatchewan stormed back from a 3-0 second period deficit to tie the game thanks in part to a pair of goals from Conner Roulette and a late third period marker from Liam Keeler.

St. Mary’s will now move on to face Windsor in Saturday’s semifinals. The Lancers defeated the Mount Royal Cougars 4-3 in the first game of the tournament on Thursday afternoon.
