HuskieFAN’s 2025-26 wind up with the USask women’s hockey team was held at Flats Eatery and Drink in Saskatoon, Stonebridge on Monday night. The Flats, a HuskieFAN broadcast partner, hosted over 30 members of the hockey squad for dinner prior to year end awards presented by Cam Kripki, owner of Bateman Jewellers.

For the second straight year Huskie forward Kahlen Wisener was recognized for her achievements in academics. Wisener, a third-year winger from Winnipeg, is in Kinesiology studies. Wisener was one of 124 student-athletes named Academic All-Canadians for the 2024-25 season after achieving an average of 80% or higher.

Fifth year forward Paris Oleksyn, from Saskatoon, was also presented with a watch for her work in the community. “I’ve been to some schools working with indigenous kids”, said Oleksyn. “We had a ‘Day in the Life’ program where brought them to the school. We got skates for them and took them on the ice which was their favourite part. We see great things in everybody. I love giving back to the kids,”

Kripki, who has sponsored HuskieFAN’s ‘Diamond in the Rough’ program for four seasons, circles the windup on the calendar. “I look forward to it ever year”, he said. “My favourite part is that whole list of questions we give them that they answer to truly get to know the character of the team.” Kripki’s goddaughter, Chantel Burke. is one of the assistant coaches of the USask women’s hockey team. “I look to support female hockey”, he said.

Both Wisener and Oleksyn listed second year forward Aeryn Flanagan as their ‘funniest teammate’ in the HuskieFAN ‘Diamond in the Rough’ bios. Flanagan, a Kinesiology student from Edmonton, listed 2% Milk as her favourite food. Kripki ended the night by presenting Flanagan with a 2-litre container. “Sorry Aeryn”, he said. “Being from a dairy farm background, I had to present her with some milk.”
