Huskies visit Alberta on September 18
The Huskies visit the Alberta Golden Bears in the first of back-to-back road games on Friday night at Foote Field. The Huskies recovered from a week one loss with a September 11th, 44-24 win over the Calgary Dinos in front of a sold-out crowd at Griffiths Stadium.
Huskie returner Daniel Kubongo was named Canada West special teams player of the week thanks in part to a 123-yard missed field goal return for a touchdown. Quarterback Anton Amundrud had 332 yards in passing and connected with newcomer Keaton Belsher for two of his three passing touchdowns. Saskatchewan’s defense rallied for three sacks on the night.
Friday the Huskies visit a young Alberta team that has scored only 18 points in the first two games of the season and allowed 82. Following Friday’s game, the Huskies visit the 2-0 Regina Rams on September 26th at Mosaic Stadium.
Huskie head coach Scott Flory talked with HuskieFAN on this week’s edition of The Coach’s Show.
