Huskies beat Bisons 31-14 in preseason action

HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison puts a wrap on Saturday’s Huskies 31-14 win over the Manitoba Bisons in Canada West Football at Griffiths Stadium on Saturday.

A mix of veterans and younger players helped the U of S Huskies Football Team to a 31-14 win over the Manitoba Bisons in Canada West non-conference play on Saturday at Griffiths Stadium. 4th year running back Adam Machart led the Huskies to an 8-6 lead with a first quarter touchdown. Machart finished the day with 6 carries for 81 yards.

Some of the younger players got on the field in the second half, and there were some impressive showings. Quarterback Keegan Kayton, a first year pivot from (Regina, Sheldon Williams), went for 5 for 7 for 86 yards. First year running back Ryker Frank (Regina, LeBoldus) had 7 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, first year players First year defenders Jayden Engel and Nathan Jule both had sacks for the Huskies.
