Huskies sweep TWU Spartans
A quick start by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s hockey was all they needed to earn a weekend sweep at Merlis Belsher Place.
The Huskies had 12 different players hit the scoresheet as they defeated the Trinity Western University Spartans 9-3 on Saturday night in Saskatoon.
“Every game, we’ve had a slow start and that is not what we want to do going forward,” said Huskies forward Jaxan Kaluski. “Our main focus was to get out quick and I think we did that. We had a strong first period.”
Dawson Holt got the Huskies on the board two minutes into the game and the home team never looked back. Captain Gordie Ballhorn beat Spartans starting goaltender Talor Jospeh to give the Huskies an early 2-0 lead.
