Huskies dropped by Bisons
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s hockey team had their chances but couldn’t capitalize on them and dropped a critical game.
The University of Manitoba Bisons played spoiler on Friday night at Merlis Belsher Place, picking up a 3-2 victory over the Huskies in Canada West action.
“We should have finished, that’s for sure. We had lots of opportunities,” said Mike Babcock, head coach of the Huskies. “They didn’t touch the puck in the first 10 minutes, but then we made some mistakes and they scored. Then we tried to play catch-up hockey and catch-up hockey is losing hockey.”
The teams were scoreless after the first period of play and the Huskies had the slight edge in shots 7-6 after the opening frame.
