The return to U Sports competition in 2021-22 delivered many memorable moments for Huskies women’s hockey.

There was the historic sweep of the University of Alberta Pandas at Clare Drake Arena in the regular season, to another first-ever postseason sweep over the University of Manitoba Bisons to start their playoff run.

From that winning quarterfinal weekend in Winnipeg, the University of Saskatchewan travelled to Calgary to face the top-seed Mount Royal University.

The Huskies swept the series, again. The semifinal win earned the team a place in both the Canada West and U Sports championships.

While the Canada West final didn’t go the Huskies way, the team started their travel one week later to Charlottetown, PEI, where they will compete for the national title from March 24-27.

HuskieFAN’s Daniella Ponticelli will broadcast all Huskies women’s hockey games live from PEI on the HuskieFAN app and at huskiefan.ca.

Ponticelli has also been documenting the team’s travels for HuskieFAN, and shares 10 behind-the-scenes moments from the postseason leading up to nationals:
