Huskies Alberta bound for key weekend series with Golden Bears
Following a pair of home ice losses to the fifth place UBC Thunderbirds, the Huskie men’s hockey team finds itself in an intense fight to maintain its position in the Canada West standings.
Saskatchewan sits in fourth place, two points up in UBC, and four points back of third place Alberta going into this weekend’s series with the Golden Bears in Edmonton. The Thunderbirds also have two games in hand on the Huskies. (The top four teams host first round playoff series. The top two schools get a first round bye.)
Slow starts caught up to the Huskies in 1-0 and 3-2 home ice defeats to the T-Birds on the January 13-14 weekend.
However, despite missing forwards Jaxan Kaluski, Aiden Bulych and Jared Dmytriw, the Huskies held their own.
