Thimm leads Huskies to victory over Pronghorns

For the first time during the 2024-25 campaign, it was all smiles at the PAC as the Huskie men’s basketball team registered its first win of the season, 81-74 over the Lethbridge Pronghorns.

After falling behind in the first half, the Huskies outworked and outscored the visitors 48-34 in the second half. Easton Thimm, a local Saskatoon product, had a game-high 26 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Fourth-year Huskie, Emmanuel Bonsu, had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Dyllin Morin had a big night, contributing 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The Huskie women’s team won its 11th straight game, 82-62 over Lethbridge.

A blistering first quarter, that saw Logan Reider hit four 3-pointers, had the Huskies up 28-13 after the first quarter. Reider led all scorers with 26 points, to go along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

Captain Gage Grassick finished with a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds). Courtney Primeau, who came off the bench to begin the contest, finished with 12 points and 10 boards respectively.

Lethbridge committed 23 turnovers, and the home side feasted on their opponents to the tune of 29 points, including 18 off the fast break.

Tobore Okome and Courntey McKee led the Pronghorns, with 15 points apiece.

The Huskie women’s team hosts Lethbridge at 5:00 PM on Saturday, followed by the Saskatchewan/Pronghorn men’s match-up at 7:00 PM at the PAC.
