Halloween weekend men’s hockey and playoff football on campus

The Huskie men’s hockey team hosts the Manitoba Bisons on October 31st and November 1st at Merlis Belsher Place. The Huskies improved to 5 and 1 with convincing 8-1 and 5-1 wins over the Regina Cougars on October 24th and 25th.

Newcomer Conner Roulette had five points on the weekend, with a goal and three assists in the Friday 8-1 victory. Veteran Chantz Petruic had two goals on Saturday. Goaltenders Bryan Thomson and Jordan Kooy each had a win.

Manitoba is 3-2-0-1 on the season and picked up three of four points in last weekend’s series against the Mount Royal Cougars.

Friday’s game starts at 7:00 PM, while puck drop is at 5:00 PM on Saturday at Merlis Belsher Place.

It’s playoff time in Canada West football. U Sask, who finished the season with a 7 and 1 regular season record, hosts the 3 and 5 UBC Thunderbirds in a Canada West semi-final on Saturday afternoon at Griffiths Stadium.

The Huskies defeated the T-Birds twice during the regular season. (51-14 and 24-10) Anton Amundrud led the conference with a 382.2 yds/game Canada West passing average in the first five games of the season while Jake Farrell is a perfect 3 and 0 in his last three starts at quarterback.

Saturday’s game starts at 2:00 PM at Griffiths Stadium.
