Basketball and women’s hockey on tap this weekend

The Huskie basketball teams host the UBC Thunderbirds on November 21st and 22nd at the USask campus. Saskatchewan’s women’s team puts a 6 and 0 record on the line following convincing wins over the Bisons in Winnipeg on the November 6th- and 7th weekend. The Thunderbirds top the Pacific division with a record of 5 and 1.

The USask men’s team settles into Saskatoon for a four-game home stand starting Friday against the Thunderbirds. The Huskies are 1 and 5 on the season and will be tested by an impressive T-Bird squad that is in second place in the Pacific division at 4 and 2.

The women’s games start at 6:00 PM on Friday and 5:00 PM on Saturday. Tip off for the Friday night men’s game is at 8:00 PM followed by a 7:00 PM start on Saturday at the PAC.

Merlis Belsher Place will be buzzing with Huskie women’s hockey on the weekend. Following a November 10th-11th bye, USask will host the MacEwan Griffins. Saskatchewan has a record of 5-3 and 2 with points in two overtime losses. The Huskies are eight points behind Calgary and Mount Royal with games in hand on both teams. The Griffins have won twice in 14 games this season.

Friday night’s game starts at 7:00 PM, while puck drop on Saturday is at 5:00 PM at Merlis Belsher Place.
