Playoff push on the horizon for several Huskie teams in 2026
The Huskie women’s basketball team is in Alberta on the January 9-10 weekend to face the Pandas. USask is one of four schools with a perfect 10 and 0 record entering the 2026 calendar year.
Stand out Gage Grassick is second in the conference, averaging 18.3 points per game. The Prince Albert product also leads the conference with 67 assists. Maya Flindall is tied for second with a 41.6%, 3-point shooting percentage
Saskatchewan’s men’s basketball team hopes to see a push from its younger players in the second half of the season. The 2 and 8 Huskies ring in the new year in Edmonton against the Bears.
Veteran Easton Thimm is having a strong season, leading the conference with 10.4 rebounds per game. The 3rd-year, Holy Cross graduate, also leads Canada West with the best field goal percentage at 64.4% this season.
