Huskie men’s hockey team visits Trinity Western this weekend

The Huskie men’s hockey team heads to the west coast for the January 12th-13th weekend. Saskatchewan visits the Trinity Western Spartans, in Langley, B.C., for Friday and Saturday night games. The Huskies enter the weekend in a 4th-place tie in the Canada West standings with 26 points.

The Huskies began the 2024 portion of their schedule with back-to-back victories over the Regina Cougars. (Saskatchewan defeated the U of R 5-4 on January 6th at Merlis Belsher Place and 9-0 on January 7th at the Brandt Centre.)

The U of S sits in a fourth-place tie with Mount Royal in the Canada West standings with 26 points. Calgary is in first place with 33 points one more than UBC, while Alberta has 30 points. Saskatchewan has two games in hand on the Dinos, Thunderbirds and Golden Bears.

Head coach Brandin Cote spoke with HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison about the weekend sweep over Regina, the play of newcomer Landon Kosior and the upcoming series with the Spartans.
