Huskie – Saskatoon Minor Football feature

Each week we highlight a Huskie player who grew up playing within the Saskatoon Minor Football program.

USask linebacker Porter Hanson is in his second year of eligibility with the team. Seven games into the 2026 regular season, Hanson leads the team with 39 tackles and a sack this season. Hanson registered his sack during the second weekend of the season in a win over Calgary and had a season high 9.5 tackles in an October 3rd Huskie victory over UBC.

Hanson, who wears #47, discusses his time within the Saskatoon Minor Football system, first in Kinsmen Tackle Football, then with the Holy Cross Crusaders before starting his U SPORTS career.
