Jan 22, 2025 | 7:32 PM

The 2025 edition of the Knights of Columbus Indoor Games is set for January 23rd, 24th and 25th at the Saskatoon Field House. Events start at 5:30 PM on Thursday afternoon with the final event, the men’s 1500 metres, set for 4:30 PM on Saturday.

The Huskies will be looking to build off their impressive start to the season. The teams have earned 11 U SPORTS auto standards and 17 gold medals on their way to U SPORTS Top 10 rankings. (Women-3rd, Men-7th)

Huskie fans will be watching many athletes closely, including 3rd year sprinter Williams Ogunnubi from Holy Cross high school. Ogunnubi had a top-three finish in the 60m with a time of 7.79 at the Golden Bear Open in Edmonton last weekend.

The Huskie basketball teams host Lethbridge at the PAC. The 10 and 2 U of S women’s team looks to continue its 10-game win streak after convincing victories over the Wesmen in Winnipeg last weekend. The Pronghorns are 6 and 6 on the season. The January 24th game starts at 6:00 PM, while the tip for the January 25th contest is at 5:00 PM.

Saskatchewan’s men’s team searches for its first win of the season against a Pronghorn team that is near the top of the Prairie Division standings at 9 and 3. Friday and Saturday games are at 8:00 PM and 7:00 PM respectively.

The Alberta Golden Bears visit the Huskie men’s hockey team for a big Canada West series at Merlis Belsher Place. Alberta has a four-point lead over Saskatchewan for first place in the east division, but the U of S has a pair of games in hand. The U of A has defeated the Huskies in three of four meetings this season. Friday night’s game starts at 7:00 PM while Saturday’s showdown starts at 5:00 PM.
