A chance to tame the Bears again

Oct 3, 2025 | 2:24 PM

With two of their final three games at Griffiths Stadium, the Huskies control their destiny as the end of the 2025 Canada West football season approaches. Saskatchewan sits in top spot in the Canada West standings at 4 and 1, following last weekend’s 45-22 win over the Calgary Dinos. Veteran receiver Daniel Wiebe had three touchdown catches while, on defense, Reice Kack and Reece McCormick each had a sack.

The Regina Rams also have a 4 and 1 record, however the Huskies hold the tiebreaker over the U of R thanks to a 22-20 win back on September 19th in Saskatoon.

The Alberta Golden Bears meet USask for the second time this season on Saturday night at 7:00 Griffiths Stadium. The Huskies pulled out a 29-20 win over the Bears in week one at Foote Field in Edmonton.

The 1 and 4 Golden Bears registered their first win of the season last weekend by defeating the UBC Thunderbirds 38-18. Saskatoon product Trey Reider had 281 yards passing and threw two touchdown passes.

Huskie head coach Scott Flory chatted with HuskieFAN about last weekend’s win over Calgary and Saturday night’s contest against the U of A.
