A home-and-home with southern rivals

The annual U-Prairie Challenge between the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan continues this weekend as the Huskie women’s hockey team faces the U of R in a home-and-home series which starts Friday (October 24) in the provincial capital before switching back to Saskatoon on Saturday night. (October 25)

Saskatchewan has four points in four games after 2-1 and 4-3 overtime losses to Trinity Western on the October 17-18 weekend. Huskie fans will get to see several new forwards on the team this season including Ella Clarke, Kara Mitenko and Peppi Virtanen from Finland.

Second year goaltender Clara Juca has already gained some valuable experience this season as Emma Backman, Colby Wilson and Juca make up the trio between the pipes. Huskie coach Steve Kook chatted with Wray Morrison about the home-and-home series with Regina and about the season ahead.
