Huskie women’s basketball team takes undefeated record to the new year

The Huskie women’s basketball team will take a perfect 10 and 0 record into the holiday break. USask defeated the Brandon Bobcats 114-50 at the PAC on Saturday night as the Huskies put up no less than 24 points in each quarter.

Logan Reider and Maya Flindall combined for 45 points, while Gage Grassick had 18 points,7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Olivia Harm chipped in with 12 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

The Huskie defense came up big yet again as 19 forced turnovers led to 27 points. The battle in the paint was also dominated by the green and white, doubling up their opponents 52-26.

On the men’s side the Bobcats downed the Huskies 85-62. Brandon freshman Munroop Gill had a game high 33 points and 7 reboudns with a 50% shooting percentage. Sultan Haider-Bhatti was one assist shy of a triple double with 14 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists)

Easton Thimm had 16 points and six rebounds for the Huskies. 12 Huskie turnovers led to 16 Bobcat points.

Both Huskie basketball teams start the new year in Edmonton on January 9th for a weekend series with the Alberta Pandas and Golden Bears.
