2026 Huskie soccer schedule details

As soccer fever sweeps across the country, Canada West student-athletes and fans can officially begin counting down to the 2026 conference season. The conference’s 2026 soccer schedules have been unveiled, with men’s action beginning Aug. 27 and women’s play kicking off Sept. 4.The regular season will run through Oct. 25, with playoffs beginning Oct. 30. ​

Griffiths Stadium will be the site of the USask men’s home opener on Friday, September 4th as the Lethbridge Pronghorns visit Saskatoon at 7:00 PM. The Huskies are home again on Friday, September 11th, hosting the MacEwan Griffins.

The annual Bateman Cup, between the Alberta Golden Bears and USask Huskies, is slated for Saturday, September 13th at 2:30 PM at Griffiths Stadium. (The Bateman Cup was established in 2016 to honour veterans from the First World War from Saskatoon and was named after Reginald John Godfrey Bateman. Bateman, a former professor at USask, was the captain of the university’s soccer team prior to enlisting in 1914. The game is played each year against Alberta, who served as Saskatchewan’s first-ever inter university soccer opponent, when they took the pitch against one-another in 1911.)

The men’s postseason will see quarterfinal and semifinal action take place Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, with the gold medal game to be played Nov. 6 or 7. The championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the Pacific Division.

The USask women’s soccer squad opens its 2026 season on the road vs. the Alberta Golden Bears in Edmonton on Saturday, September 5th followed by a Sunday, September 6th match against the MacEwan Griffins at Foote Field.

The Huskies are then at home for a pair of 12:00 PM games on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th against the Manitoba Bisons at Griffiths Stadium.

The women’s postseason will feature a quarterfinal round from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, followed by a “Final Four” format taking place from Nov. 6-7, hosted by the highest remaining seed in the Prairie Division.

Looking ahead to U SPORTS nationals, a pair of Canada West sides will welcome the nation’s top teams to the west coast from Nov. 12-15. The Victoria Vikes will host the men’s competition, while UBC will welcome the women’s event to Vancouver.
