Huskie men’s hockey season begins October 9th

Four non-conference games remain for the Huskie men’s hockey team in the lead up to the start of the 2026-27 regular season. The Huskies went 3-for-3 in a pre-season trip to Austria in August, then split a Friday-Saturday set with the Calgary Dinos on September 11th and 12th.

USask will face the Alberta Golden Bears in Cold Lake, Alberta on September 25th and 26th before hosting the Regina Cougars in a pair of non-conference games in Saskatoon on October 2nd and in the Big River First Nation on October 3rd. The regular season begins on October 9th when the Huskies host the Calgary Dinos at Merlis Belsher Place.

Despite the graduation of players such as Chantz Petruic and the decision by Connor Roulette to go to the NCAA, Huskie head coach Brandin Cote is excited about the veterans on team that led the program to a second straight Canada West title in 2025 and about newcomers such as Jaydon Dureau, who has pro experience, and former Saskatoon Blades captain Tyler Parr.
