2024 USports Track and Field preview

The Huskie track and field team now focuses on the 2024 USports championships, March 7th to 9th in Winnipeg. Saskatchewan’s women’s team is ranked third in the nation behind Western and Guelph following a sixth straight Canada West championship in Edmonton.

Huskie coach Jason Reindl, who claimed his sixth Canada West coach of the year award chatted with HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison about his assistant coaches, success at the Canada West championships and Huskie athletes to watch for as the event approaches.

Huskie middle-distance athlete, Avery Pearson, has her sights set on a gold medal in the 600-metre event, after winning a silver at the 2023 USports championships in Saskatoon. Pearson, who is her second year of eligibility, is hoping to carry over the momentum from a first-place finish at the Canada West championships. The Meadow Lake product talked with HuskieFAN’s Wray Morrison about her success in the 600-metres and about preparing for the 2024 championships at the University of Manitoba.
