Huskies outscore Rams

The USask Huskies improved to 3-1 with a 38-31 win over the Regina Rams at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Anton Amundrud had 369 yards passing and tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Dawson Lennea. 

The Huskies blew open a 17-17 game in the third quarter with 21 straight points. Javin Boynton scored on a pair of one-yard runs and Lennea hauled in a 37-yard pass from Amundrud as the Huskies opened up a 38-17 lead. 

The Rams got back into the game on a big special teams play early in the fourth quarter when Chase Murray returned a botched field goal attempt 72 yards for a major. Later in the quarter, Regina capped off a 62-yard drive with a one-yard Carter Ashman plunge to cut Saskatchewan’s lead to seven, but that’s as close as the home side could get. 

Rams quarterback Owen Sieben had 196 yards in passing and one touchdown. Chase Murray had an interception for the U of R, while Connor Tyson and Nathan Jule registered sacks for the Huskies.
