Provincial rivals meet for Hardy Cup berth

Nov 6, 2026 | 11:12 AM

For a third straight season, the Regina Rams and Saskatchewan Huskies meet in a Canada West playoff matchup on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Griffiths Stadium. In 2024 the Rams were victorious at the USask campus to claim the Hardy Cup. Last year the Huskies advanced to the Mitchell Bowl with a Canada West title win over the U of R. In 2026 the provincial rivals meet again to decide who will advance to the league final.

The Huskies finished with a 6-2 record in the regular season, falling to the UBC Thunderbirds 59-24 in the October 30th season finale. The Rams defeated Manitoba 26-15 in their final game of the regular season on October 31st.

Huskie quarterback Anton Amundrud threw for 369 yards and two touchdowns in Saskatchewan’s 38-31 win over the Regina Rams in the teams’ only regular season meeting on September 26th.

Saturday’s matchup features the number one passing team in Canada West football against the conference’s top rushing squad. The Huskies averaged 371.8 yards/game through the air in the regular season while the Rams averaged 198.4 yards/game on the ground.

Youth/children will be able to see Saturday’s Canada West semi-final game for $2.00.

Huskie head coach Scott Flory spoke with HuskieFAN on the November 6th edition of The Coach’s Show.

Saturday’s game can be heard on the free HuskieFAN app with pre-game coverage starting at 1:45 PM.
